Though everyone in the UK has to wait to see Ant-Man And The Wasp until after England crash out of the World Cup again on penalties probably, the first post-Infinity War MCU movie will land in American cinemas on July 6th (a full month ahead of the UK release). And the first reactions to the movie are now coming out.

Unfortunately for British fans, the next month and a bit are going to be a minefield of spoilers, because apparently - unlike the rest of Europe, who are also involved in the World Cup - it has been decided that we can't possibly juggle football AND a film at the same time. But at least it sounds like the film will be worth the wait.

The reviews coming out of the early screenings in the US all seem to be very positive, with particular praise for the humour, the personal stakes of the story and how well it introduces The Wasp as a shared lead. There's even mention of a VERY exciting scene that sounds worth the admission fee alone...

Looking through the reactions, the most interesting deal with the villains of the piece and also the post-credits scene.

Seemingly, the marketing angle presenting Ghost as a villain is misdirection (likewise Walton Goggins' Sonny Burch), because the sequel is a rare thing - a hero movie without villains...

That's interesting, to say the least. And it suggests that the theories about Ghost following her comic book origin of basically being an anti-corporation Robin Hood type are indeed true. So maybe Ant-Man is after her more for her technological knowledge rather than stopping her "crimes"?

On top of that, those lucky enough to see the film early say that the post-credits scene is something really special...

As a side bonus, it's also said to have a great Stan Lee cameo, which is always nice...

So that's humour, stakes, great characters, Paul Rudd doing karaoke, links to Infinity War and Avengers 4 and PAUL RUDD DOING KARAOKE. Why aren't you moving to America to see it in July already?
