Apocalypto breaks U.K. box office records

ap.jpgWow, I didn't realize so many people wanted to see Apocalypto here in the U.K. In our last podcast, we were just saying how we didn't think the trailers or advertising for the film had been good enough to draw people in, but I guess we were wrong. Mel Gibson's epic had the highest opening of any foreign movie ever in the U.K. but it still falls behind newcomer Miss Potter and the unmovable Night at the Museum. White Noise 2 hasn't made half the impact of the original but it wasn't advertised half as much. U.K. Box Office for Weekend starting 5th January 2007 Rank Title Weekend Gross 1. Night at the Museum (2006) £2.9M £13.9M 2. Miss Potter (2006) £1.4M £1.4M 3. Apocalypto (2006) £1.3M £1.3M 4. Employee of the Month (2006) £1.07M £1.07M 5. Casino Royale (2006) £1.05M £51.7M 6.
