Aquaman & The Lost Kingdom Review: 3 Ups & 7 Downs

Ups...

3. Jason Momoa's Solid Performance

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom
Warner Bros.

Jason Momoa was given the lion's share of the credit for the first Aquaman succeeding, and again, he's basically the best part of this otherwise dire sequel.

In the very least you can say that Momoa is perfectly cast once more as Arthur Curry, his laidback ocean dudebro vibes again elevating what otherwise feels like such a mechanical, soulless exercise throughout.

You can tell that Momoa cares about the IP and is trying his damnedest to imbue it with some fun, but even he can only do so much to prop up a fundamentally poor movie from top to bottom.

Between this and Fast X, though, Momoa proved himself the easy highlight of two quite disastrous blockbusters in 2023.
