Aquaman Trailer Reactions: 6 Ups & 3 Downs

5. The Stakes Seem Genuine

Aquaman King Orm
Warner Bros.

Hopefully, Warner Bros will have learned from the MCU's focus on villains recently and it does look like the fraternal conflict between Orm and Arthur will give the grander scale battles in the film's final act a more personal edge.

It would have been a mistake for Orm to simply want to take dominion of the surface world because he's a pantomime villain with delusions of grandeur. Instead, the importance of Arthur's backstory and their conflict suggests that the villain's plan will have a much more personal edge to it.

And on top of that, it genuinely looks like Orm's threat to the surface world will be a legitimate one because of the scale of his forces. This will be no small skirmish.
