Army Of The Dead: Every Crew Member Ranked Worst To Best
1. Scott Ward
It might be a little surprising to see this character sitting atop the list, as while he is interesting, he's not as colourful as the others and seems like a leader who's lacking complexity. But, he deserves his place here, as this protagonist ticks every box.
When it comes to establishing Scott as a character, you've got it all within the first fifteen minutes. He's clearly a brave fighter, a badass and someone who truly cares about his daughter, which becomes his motive to take on the mission. While this set-up might be unoriginal for an action hero, it works well because of its simplicity, as you can bypass any attempts to make him more than what he is - that being an action star.
Also, the character would undoubtedly be far lower down the list were it not for the work of Dave Bautista. This former wrestler turned Hollywood actor is truly underrated as a performer, as he's proven himself to be surprisingly versatile on the big screen.
He pours all of his energy into this role and makes Scott Ward come across as a beast of a man but also someone weary and tired of fighting. It acts as yet another example of how great Bautista is as an unconventional leading man.
