4. Xandar's Destruction Will Happen In Flashback

The Rumour

Since Infinity War missed out the key event of Xandar's decimation (apart from Thanos mentioning it), it's being assumed that we're going to get a flashback sequence in Avengers 4 explicitly showing Thanos picking up the Power Stone and destroying the Nova Corps.

That means we'd also be likely to see the debut of Nova, who has long been rumoured to be one of Marvel's intended new characters for Phase 4.

The Debunking

We might well get Nova at some point (and James Gunn revealing his plans to feature him in Guardians Of The Galaxy were scuppered suggests Marvel have active plans), but there's no way we're seeing the decimation of Xandar in Avengers 4.

If we see it, it will be the opening sequence of a stand-alone Nova movie. To retread that ground in Avengers 4 would be redundant and an unnecessary distraction when the Russos already have way too much story to tell as it is. Strike it off.
