2. There's An "Even Bigger Threat" Coming

The Rumour

Daniel RPK might say that there's no Fox/Marvel characters coming in for Avengers 4, but another rumour suggests that there's an "even bigger threat" set to be unveiled in the wake of Thanos' defeat. The leak comes courtest of another toy line that specifically mentions Rocket Raccoon and Thor being on a mission together to deal with a "bigger threat."

Naturally, that sent rumour-mongers spinning into a frenzy as the likes of Galactus immediately sprung to mind.

Avengers 4 might be an ending, but it's also a beginning and Phase 4 needs to not be all about characters picking up the pieces from the events of the Infinity Saga. That will play into it, inevitably, but the only way to really move on is to turn focus to something bigger and more world-changing in order to move us all on.

Could Galactus even work on screen, though, that's the question...

Some sources have suggested that the Skrull will be the big bads of the new chapter of the MCU, but they aren't really a bigger deal than Thanos. It would make sense for them to look cosmic for a threat who could genuinely match those credentials and - like it or not - Galactus is the prime candidate.
