Avengers 4: Did A Cast Photo Just Confirm Korg's Return?!
Fan favourite might be back to fight Thanos...
Are we about to see the return of a serious fan favourite from Thor: Ragnarok?
With reshoots underway for Avengers 4 (hold on to your hats there, angry comic book movie commenter, not all reshoots are a bad thing), the cast and crew are back together and obviously taking the opportunity to spend some social time together.
This past weekend, a photograph of such activities was taken at Joe Russo's restaurant Simone (he's a part owner, anyway) featuring some of the Avengers' cast's famous faces. And in amongst the likes of Pom Klementieff, Chris Evans, Karen Gillan and Don Cheadle is the grinning face of Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi.
Now, he could just be there to eat with friends, but where's the fun in that sort of speculation? Instead, fans (and some actual professionals like the one writing this very article) are suggesting that Waititi's presence means we're going to get to see the return of Korg the Kronan.
Even though he was weirdly absent from the opening of Infinity War (and his fate remains unclear), we've already heard from Kevin Feige on the Korg issue, as he says the Kronan's story is not quite done in the MCU (via Fandango):
"We have plans for Korg and Miek. When and where we'll have to wait and see, but we, like the audience now that they've seen them, can't get enough."
Hopefully, this all means that both Korg and Miek made it off Thor's refugee ship and we can see them return not only in Avengers 4 but in their own spin-off. Because who even wants an MCU where they aren't given more screen time?
