By now, it's probably become apparent that the Quantum Realm has a lot to do with Avengers 4's story. Ant-Man and the Wasp sees Scott Lang head to the realm during the events of Infinity War, and, when the snap actually happens, he's none the wiser. Both Hope and Hank perish, and Scott is seemingly trapped in the realm as a result.
So, how did he get out? That remains to be seen, but when we see Scott at the end of the trailer he at least looks to be in good spirits. Does he know where Hank and Hope have gone? Did he head to the Avengers compound first? If so, then he's in for a nasty surprise - even if his arrival proves to be what triggers Cap's plan to bring everyone back.
Back in 2012, Tony Stark defined the Avengers' mantra with a solemn vow that, if they couldn't protect the Earth, then everyone can be damn sure that they'll avenge it. That is the exact scenario the team find themselves in now, and even with things seemingly so hopeless, you can count on Earth's Mightiest Heroes to fight back, and for the Quantum Realm in particular to play a significant role.
