Avengers 4: Predicting The Fate Of Every Avenger

1. Gamora

Current Status: Dead/inside the Soul Stone

Her Avengers 4 Fate: Though Gamora seemed to die a pretty definitive death in Infinity War, there are plenty of signs that point to her returning in Avengers 4.

While promoting Guardians Vol. 2 in April last year, actress Zoe Saldana said that she'd be going back to film "Gauntlet" later in the year, and even though that's not going to be the title of Avengers 4, it does mean that she was present when Avengers 4 was shooting in late 2017.

Plus, Infinity War co-director Joe Russo recently dropped a huge bit of information: Gamora is still "alive" within the Soul Stone. The Soul Stone houses its own pocket world where trapped souls may live on - this was seen at the end of Infinity War during Thanos' chat with young Gamora - and this is where Gamora is stuck, presumably along with everybody who got dusted.

Based on all this information, Gamora will return in Avengers 4. But for what purpose? The filmmakers must have something special planned if they're going to undo a major death, right? Well, yes. And it's probably that Gamora is the one who kills Thanos.

Technically, she killed him in Infinity War - in the Knowhere scene - so look at that as foreshadowing. As already qualified, Nebula will get to deal Thanos some pain, so picture the two sisters teaming up to take him down; Nebula strikes Thanos, is fatally wounded, and dies while watching Gamora finish the job.

Gamora and Nebula have always been at odds, because of Thanos. Eradicating the source of all their troubles - together - would put a poetic and emotional cap on their relationship.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
