Avengers 4 Theory: Why Ant-Man Is Key To Time Travel (And Undoing Infinity War)

1. The Release Date

It's a slightly less complex point, but the fact that Ant-Man And The Wasp comes out after Infinity War actually helps add weight to the theory that it will solve Infinity War's ending.

Had this film been released before Infinity War and we'd all seen the technology to use the Quantum Realm to potentially jump into the past, all of the drama of the final moments of Infinity War would have been taken away. As it was, the fact that Doctor Strange gave up the Time Stone seemingly took away the Avengers' get out of jail free card. From there, it became difficult to imagine how the snap would be undone, which is precisely why it was so impactful.

With a safety net provided by Ant-Man And The Wasp, that drama and impact would have been lost, which would explain why the timeline jumps back to the period after Civil War for the sequel, rather than us getting a linear timeline.
