Avengers: 9 Major Things Marvel Just Revealed In Vanity Fair

Even as there's some sadness about the retiring actors, Marvel are not short of options to replace them. Even if they - unexpectedly - decide to retire the characters themselves, Bob Iger mentioned specifically that Marvel has the rights to 7,000 characters. That's quite a pool of talent to be able to draw from.

And it sounds like the studio are looking to really get into their catalogue to find new, exciting properties and new worlds. As Iger says: “We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate - geographically or in time - from the worlds that we’ve already visited."

The new worlds comment is great, as it could mean more alien characters and places like Atlantis for Namor, but the specific mention of "time" is even more interesting. Could we be about to see more films from historical points as with Captain America and Captain Marvel (which is set in the 90s)? That'd open up a whole new world of exciting possibilities.

Which of these revelations means the most to you? Share your reactions below in the comments thread.
