12. A "Fair But Firmly Cruel" Ruler

The Trailer Moment: An extended version of the first teaser showed a shorter edit of the Avengers Tower after-party where the gang attempt to lift Thor's hammer - an action that would make them King of Asgard. When cockily preparing to lift it, Tony Stark remarks that he'd be a "fair but firmly cruel" ruler. Where Was It? This line is replaced by a more raunchy quote in the finished film; Tony says that if he lifts the hammer he'll "reinstate primae noctis", the practice of feudal lords bedding any woman they want. So skewed towards the cruel. It's a pretty obscure reference, but still quite fitting for Stark (although doesn't quite fit in a jovial, mainstream tease).
