Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 15 Theories That Were Utter Bull

1. Spider-Man Would Appear (Or Be Referenced In Any Way)

The Theory: Because Marvel have just spent a lot of time and money getting Sony to actually agree to work with them on Spider-Man, they would surely have to quickly put together a post-credits stinger featuring the web-slinger. Or at the very least some sort of obscure Easter Egg.

The Supposed Evidence: Basic supposition combined with Marvel's fondness for teasing new characters. And the small matter of Danny Elfman being credited for "Additional Music."

The Reality: Not even the slightest nod. It turns out the cheeky Elfman credit deceitfully masked the fact that he was legitimately co-scoring and brought nothing of Spider-Man to the table.

Would It Have Been Better? The tease of Thanos was more important for the way the narrative is playing out in the long-run, but Marvel could have scored a major result with fans if they'd even just teased that Spider-Man already existed.

So, it depends on how you feel about long-term depth versus short-term impact.
