Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 32 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References

8. The Obscure Firefly Reference

Vision Infinity Stone
Fox

This being a Joss Whedon film there were always going to be trademarks to look out for.

The whole thing drips with snark and deadpan quips - more so than any Marvel film so far, including Guardians of The Galaxy in fact - and the smell of death hangs over everything.

Most subtly there's also an allusion to the theme song of another of Whedon's most beloved works, Firefly, which is pretty preoccupied with sky imagery. Ultron himself drops this familiar sounding line:

"People have looked to the sky and seen hope. I'll take that from them first."
