Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 32 Easter Eggs, In-Jokes And References
1. The Mid-Credits Scene
Despite all the talk of nods forward to Ant-Man or Doctor Strange or Civil War - including a vague suggestion that Spider-Man might have made his bow (thanks to Danny Elfman's presence on the poster), the mid-credits scene was something of a surprise.
With no post-credits scene at all (something that even the most cynical of fans will find difficult to accept on face value without experiencing it themselves), the mid-sequence had some serious weight. But in the end, it was just another few seconds of Thanos, plotting his Infinity Stones grab after seeing the Avengers use one of them as Vision's life-force.
That line "fine, I'll do it myself" didn't actually make sense, given the lack of any tangible links to Ultron at all, but at least it ignored the idea that stingers have to be weighty currency.
