Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Incredibly Disturbing Comic Moments That Won't Be In The Film
8. Sharon Carter Kills Captain America While Pregnant With His Baby, Then Stabs Her Own Womb
Pregnancies are generally tricky plot devices in comics: a monthly comic series could occur over a few days or a few months or even several decades, so working in nine months of incubation and abdominal expansion can not only get in the way of keeping time, but also wreak havoc on spandex costume designs. Worse yet is when one hero is impregnated by another, then apparently kills the latter in a highly contrived brainwashing scheme. And yet, there in a nutshell is the story of Agent 13's time with-child in the pages of Captain America. Following Civil War, Captain America was imprisoned for taking the anti-registration side of the battle and on his way to arraignment he was shot by his girlfriend, Sharon Carter (who really never should have been anywhere near him SHIELD Agent or not). As it turns out, she was under the mind control of Dr. Faustus who wanted her unborn child by Captain America as a body for the Red Skull! But wait, it gets better. So as to avoid the Skull from getting his hands on "anything of her's" she stabs herself in the stomach and forces herself to miscarry. Eventually, Captain America turns out to be severely not-dead but is rather - you guessed it - time displaced, but then shortly afterwards she is dead. Comic book romances are hard that way. The story is so wild and involves so much history (and stabbing an unborn baby) that it isn't friendly to any movie, Disney owned or not.
