Avengers: Age Of Ultron - 10 Key Things We Already Know
5. Baron Von Strucker Is An Additional Villain
The post-credits scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier gave us a sneak peak at the character likely to be the secondary antagonist in Avengers: Age of Ultron - Baron Wolfgang von Strucker, played by Thomas Kretschmann. The character appeared in a secret base as a high-ranking member of HYDRA, where it was revealed that he is in possession of the staff wielded by Loki in the first Avengers movie and has Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch (who he referred to as "the twins" and who will be joining the Avengers roster in Age of Ultron) held in a pair of adjoining cells. He mentioned "the age of miracles," with "miracles" believed to be the name given to mutants in this continuity, and seemingly intends to use them for his own corrupt means. But how, exactly? What will his role be in Age of Ultron? The fact that Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch appear to be good guys in that movie makes Strucker's motives potentially even more questionable than they already would have been. So, exactly how large his role will be is still open for debate, but he will definitely be a player.
