9. What Will S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Situation Be?

When the recent Captain America: The Winter Soldier movie finished, S.H.I.E.L.D. was essentially no more. At best it could be described as being in complete disarray €“ even if it does continue to function as an organisation there will always be the worries about which agents are actually working for HYDRA undercover. It seemed like such a strange thing to happen, given that the television series about S.H.I.E.L.D ("Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.") is still ongoing and it will obviously have massive implications on the show, but what kind of state will S.H.I.E.L.D. be in come the time of Avengers: Age of Ultron's release? Nick Fury, Black Widow and Hawkeye are all set to appear, as is Captain America - all of whom are S.H.I.E.L.D. agents - but will they be working for S.H.I.E.L.D. or will they be working independently from the troubled organisation? Some recent shots from the set have shown Hawkeye in a uniform that doesn't bear the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo, but we will have to wait to find out exactly what that means (if anything).
