Secret Wars was recently mentioned by Endgame writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely as a story they'd love to tackle in the future, and though there are two versions to speak of - the one seen in the early eighties and the more recent version from 2015 - both could be used as inspiration for a future event along the same lines as Endgame.
The most exciting thing about a potential Secret Wars film, however, is that it could be the gateway to introduce the Fantastic Four. The 2015 event was fundamentally tied to Hickman's run on Marvel's First Family, and although there's no denying that Marvel will likely prioritise the introduction of the X-Men first, it's equally true that there are far less obstacles when bringing in Reed, Sue, Johnny and Ben.
Alternate timelines, dimensions and quantum realities exist within the MCU now, and in bringing in characters from different continuities, Marvel could produce an offering just as explosive as Endgame.
Bookend Phase 4 with this classic clash between the Marvel Universe and Doom, and Marvel would answer the question of just how exactly they can make an upgrade on the Infinity Saga.
