14. Bascially, F*ck All Your Time Travel Ideas

Every single time travel movie comes face to face with the problems that their story choice inherently presents. And now, because everyone has seen so many time travel movies, we're all not only experts on causality, paradoxes and complex quantum mechanics thanks to films like Hot Tub Time Machine (which Scott Lang seems to even be a fan of) but also PRIMED for them to mess up.

Think back to the glee that people met Terminator: Genisys with or even Interstellar, which was very clever and brilliant artistically, but which didn't make sense if you thought about it. And boy do we think about it.

Endgame attempts to solve the issues of its timeline in traditional time travel movie terms by basically turning to the camera and saying "f*ck all of those movies. F*ck their logic. F*ck their rules. They're all wrong. Back To The Future is bullsh*t. This is our palace and our rules go."

That's very admirable but watching the actual Avengers talk about which other movies got time travel wrong in a time travel movie is still weird.
