Avengers: Endgame - 9 Huge MCU Problems It's Created

5. Captain Marvel Is The Avengers' Awkward Silver Bullet

Captain Marvel's (Brie Larson) role in Endgame was certainly different from what many fans expected - she's absent for the middle two hours of the movie, and she isn't the one to deliver the final killing blow to Thanos.

But Carol Danvers' absence and surprisingly muted presence throughout the film does raise an issue moving forward.

Captain Marvel has been demonstrated to be so ludicrously powerful - the strongest entity in the MCU, in fact - that she can't not seem like a silver bullet for every enemy the Avengers face in the future.

This is especially true in the more self-contained solo movies, where a hero of Carol's strength could likely annihilate most low-to-mid-level antagonists in a matter of seconds.

Every time Carol is gone, an excuse will need to be contrived, because they surely won't just constantly regurgitate the "not every planet has Avengers" hand-wave that was employed with some level of success in Endgame.

There's no easy answer to this beyond "Carol is off policing the universe", so Marvel will likely just neglect to answer it and trust that fans will let it slide.
