Avengers: Endgame - 9 Possibilities For The Secret New Post-Credits Scene
1. Mutants (And/Or The Fantastic Four)
For all the marketing value there is in teasing something from Spider-Man: Far From Home at the end of the Endgame re-release, Marvel have a lot more on their plate than just Spidey's trip to Europe. They have the small matter of Phase 4 and the impending arrival of a whole host of new characters to deal with too.
So, what if this new post-credits scene ties into the revelation of the Multiverse in Far From Home's marketing campaign to reveal that the rift that brought Mysterio to the "main" Earth also opened up doors for other characters to come too?
With mutants and the Fantastic Four said to be joining the MCU as it is with no reboot, they need a way in and the multiverse remains the most reasonable opportunity and the most logical. Endgame's post-credits would have been the perfect opportunity for a tiny hint at that, even with the likelihood of them appearing in an MCU film soon unlikely, but Marvel can be forgiven for not wanting to spoil the Far From Home multiverse revelation and also for wanting to let Tony Stark's farewell breathe a little.
A re-release after the multiverse confirmation would no longer take any emphasis off Endgame's ending, wouldn't spoil the Far From Home reveal and also would allow Marvel to reveal the multiverse element to people who might not have sought out the Far From Home trailers. And not only that, but it gives us all a handy reminder of what is coming in the future too.
In that respect, it's got the most reason to be the right choice for this possible post-credits scene. Here's hoping.
