Avengers: Endgame - Could Secretly Edited Footage Reveal Hawkeye's Mission?!

1. It's An Attack On The Avengers Facility

For this to work, we'd have to accept that the marketing claim that we've only seen footage from the first hour of the movie at most is a lie. Given the fact that Marvel have admitted to lying about the marketing elsewhere, that might not be impossible.

The alternative to Hawkeye hunting Outriders in the aftermath of the Decimation is that this attack comes after the Avengers strike back at Thanos the first time and he unleashes what remains of the Outriders on them. Presumably, he'd have to have teleported some of them away with him, which is possible since we didn't actually SEE otherwise.

So in this timeline, it could be that Black Widow goes to Tokyo and convinces Hawkeye to quit his Yakuza killing mission to come back and help the heroes do something to fight back. They then set out on a second mission or Thanos learns of their intention and realises that they could actually hurt him (probably because they have Captain Marvel) and he seeks to end that mission before it really starts. He attacks the Avengers facility with the Outriders - which we know happens thanks to the Endgame LEGO sets - and the heroes fight back.

At this stage, it's harder to accept this theory, simply because it requires the suspension of several things, but the good thing about this marketing campaign is that it's impossible to really tell WHAT is going on at all times.
