13. Falcon Inherits Cap's Shield

Though it was widely expected that Bucky (Sebastian Stan) would inherit the Captain America mantle at the end of the movie, that honour actually ended up going to Falcon (Anthony Mackie).

As neat as Sam's "On your left" quip was as the dusted heroes re-appeared, Falcon earning the Captain America shield was a fitting torch-passing moment, and a nod to Falcon becoming Captain America in the comics.

While it's unlikely that we'll see Falcon kitted out in Cap's regalia moving forward, he's nevertheless sure to keep the character's spirit alive.

And while some have argued that Bucky should've been the one to inherit the shield, given his murderous past - albeit as a result of brainwashing - Sam is ultimately a more fitting embodiment of everything Cap stands for.
