Ant-Man and The Wasp's post-credit sequence left Paul Rudd's hero in a bit of a pickle: not only had The Wasp and Hank Pym been dusted by the Decimation, but it happened while he was in the Quantum Realm, leaving him suck there with no way of escaping.

For the next few months, fans were left to ponder just how he'd get out of there, considering how dangerous the Quantum Realm is, and how nobody even knew that's where he was. Fortunately, fans didn't have to wait long to find out just how he escaped once Endgame started, though the explanation is certainly... divisive.

Because, it turns out that it was a rat - just chilling out in a garage and climbing around Scott Lang's van - which accidentally triggered the device to bring him back. It's a random contrivance, but you have to admire the stones on Marvel to answer such a conundrum with, "I don't know, a rat did it."
