Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Best Moments

9. The Aliens Homage

Ebony Maw (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) and Cull Obsidian (Terry Notary) arrive in New York to retrieve the Eye of Agamotto from Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), but of course face considerable resistance from not only Strange, but also Wong (Benedict Wong), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), a performance anxiety-riddled Bruce Banner and Spider-Man (Tom Holland).

This eventually leads to Strange being kidnapped and stashed aboard a gigantic Black Order spaceship, causing Iron Man and Spidey to sneak aboard, along with the memorable introduction of Spidey's new Iron Spider suit.

The best moment of the entire sequence, though, sees Spidey hatch a plan to rescue Strange, inspired by "that really old movie, Aliens." It's not immediately clear exactly what Peter means, but the penny drops the moment he creates a hole in the side of the ship and uses it to suck Maw out into space, killing him and saving Strange.

While some might see it as a little too derivative of the Empire Strikes Back gag from Captain America: Civil War, it's a nevertheless hilarious moment that cements both Peter's ingenuity and youth (the latter being especially important for the movie's climax).
