2. There's Good Character Work

In a movie with this many moving parts, there's always going to be some compromise on detail (or on whole characters as fans of Hawkeye and Ant-Man are going to find out). Most of the time with ensemble casts, beyond introductory work there's not an awful lot of space for character development or subtlety, but that's not the case here.

According to Empire's Chris Hewitt, there is some deftness to the character work, which is a real surprise given the huge story requirements. Not a bad surprise, of course, but a surprise all the same.

That was a major concern when it was announced we'd have more than 60 main characters, but it's great to hear that there is indeed space for a little more nuance.
