Avengers: Infinity War - 10 Things We Learned From EW's Cover Story

8. Bleeding Edge Armour; Pepper's Importance

As is customary for an Iron Man appearance, there'll be a new suit to go with it, and this one is even more high-tech than ever before.

Inspired by the Bleeding Edge suit from the comics, Tony's Stark's new suit emerges from the arc reactor that is now back in his chest. Rather than needing it to survive, though, the reactor actually houses the suit, allowing it to then spread over his body.

There's more to it than that though, because the purpose of this armour - which includes rocket thrusters - is to go into deep space. Tony will be doing battle with Thanos on another planet, and this is the suit that allows him to go there.

Sticking with Mr Stark, Downey Jr also revealed that Pepper Potts - who was absent from the last Avengers movie - will be central to his arc this time around, telling EW:

"Pepper remains the heart of the [Iron Man] story. I think we wanted to get back to that reality. Not just for them, but let’s really see how that can add to the something-worth-fighting-for of it all."
