11. Where Are Hawkeye & Ant-Man?

The Question: Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Ant-Man (Paul Rudd) have both been conspicuous by their absence in the marketing for Infinity War. So, where the hell are they?

Prediction: The Russo brothers have actually commented on Hawkeye's role in the movie, albeit vaguely. They said, "He has a unique reaction to the Civil War situation that puts him in a special spot in this film...We cooked up a story for him that is a little bit of a long play. Not a short play."

Could this mean he'll take a more restrained role to begin with, in order to protect his family? But perhaps once a major superhero or two dies at the end of the movie, he might join the fold more firmly for Avengers 4?

As for Ant-Man, we know that Ant-Man and the Wasp is set before Infinity War, so it's possible that an event in that movie keeps Scott out of commission. Perhaps he disappears into the quantum realm?

It's probably sensible not to expect huge roles for either character in Infinity War, though that'll probably be rectified in next year's sequel.
