Avengers: Infinity War - 12 Plot Twists No One Will See Coming

Thanks to the release of new Thor: Ragnarok information - and a brand new trailer - at Comic Con, we know that Hulk is set for an interesting three movie arc that begins in Ragnarok and takes him through to Avengers 4. So says Mark Ruffalo at least.

Now, there's a lot of possibilities here for what could happen, but Hulk coming back to Earth, rejoining the Avengers and everyone living happily ever after hardly fits with Ruffalo specifically mentioning a new, complex arc. So what could that arc be?

What if Marvel deliver on their promise to adapt the Planet Hulk arc (which will begin in Ragnarok) and wade into World War Hulk too? Thanks to the Infinity War Comic Con footage, we know that Thor turns up alone, floating through space unconscious, which suggests that Ragnarok doesn't end with a happy ending, and also confirms that his renewed friendship with Hulk splits up again.

Perhaps the end of Ragnarok sees Thanos turn up and attack Thor, taking him out of the game knowing that Asgard holds an Infinity War, and capturing Hulk, knowing his value to Earth's defence? And what if Thanos then gets his hands on the Mind Stone - which we've already seen affecting Hulk hugely when Scarlet Witch used her powers to flip his control switch off - and unleashes Hulk on his former allies? That would certainly live up to Ruffalo's billing of an interesting new arc...
