12. Thanos Thinks He Kills Thor

The shots from the trailer showing Thanos squeezing Thor's head definitely comes from the start of the movie, immediately following their meeting on the Asgardian refugee ship (which we saw initially in Thor: Ragnarok's post-credits sequence). And the suggestion from this sequence is that Thanos MUST believe that he kills Thor as we then find him floating through space and crashing into the Milano (as revealed in the first trailer).

Why else would he throw him out into space? It's not like he'd be unaware of his powers, given that he worked with his brother. The only reasonable explanation here is that Thanos believes that he's taken Thor out of the game at this point.

The first trailer also shows Bruce Banner crashed to Earth and the suggestion is that he escapes in an escape pod (why else would Thanos allow him to get away?), so there's a viable escape route for Thor. If he doesn't take that, it's because he tries to protect his people and ends up ALMOST paying the ultimate price. His survival cannot be part of Thanos' plan.
