Avengers: Infinity War - 7 Consequences On Earth Thanos Did Not Consider

There are close to two hundred sovereign countries today. You wouldn't always know it, but the nations of this World share a delicate balance, with trade agreements, military alliances and various treaties crafted to more of less keep the peace.

Thanks to Thanos, however, all of this would now be in jeopardy. In a brief moment, half of all Prime Ministers, Presidents, Monarchs, Legislators and even Dictators are wiped out. This would undoubtedly set the stage for a major shift in World power.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, look no further than Wakanda as to why this could be a significant problem. After the bombing in Vienna during Captain America: Civil War, an event that killed then-King T'Chaka, his son T'Challa had to win and defend the throne against would-be rulers.

After initially losing to Eric Killmonger, Wakanda switched national priorities immediately, moving from its traditional isolationist policies to a far more revolutionary and aggressive position. Luckily T'Challa won the throne back from Killmonger before he could cause a global conflict.

With Thanos' snap, Wakanda once again finds itself void of a King. It has been confirmed that Shuri is still alive and would be the natural successor. Although Shuri is the smartest character in the MCU, to this point she hasn't shown the same warrior abilities as her brother. She would undoubtedly field more eager challengers and, if she lost, could set Wakanda back on its isolationist path or worse.

Think that, but everywhere. The World would be flooded with political, economic and military strife.
