Avengers: Infinity War - 8 Big Changes It Could Bring To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

5. The End Of The MCU As We Know It

You know the drill. A threat emerges, forcing heroes to set their differences aside and unite. Pooling their resources, they defeat said threat and are home in time for tea.

Except Infinity War won't necessarily follow this tired old formula. Anyone who knows their Marvel lore will have pondered the unthinkable - what if Thanos wins?

This is a realistic possibility given that the mad titan possess virtually every superpower that exists in the Marvel Universe - a few from the DC Universe, too - hence why it takes so many heroes to join forces against him.

But the Avengers were in turmoil after Civil War, and while the conclusion of Spider-Man: Homecoming suggests things aren't as bleak as they seemed, a fully united front is required for good to have any chance whatsoever against this kind of evil.

Thanos is on a mission to track down all six Infinity Stones, artefacts of unimaginable power, and with the complete set locked into his Infinity Gauntlet, he would have the ability to reshape reality however he sees fit.

A bad guy of this magnitude succeeding on his diabolical quest is not improbable, so could we be looking at a very different MCU come Avengers 4?
