Avengers: Infinity War - 9 Ways It Sets Up Ant-Man And The Wasp, Captain Marvel & Avengers 4

9. The Quantum Realm Should Be Very Important

Although the movie takes place before Infinity War (and after Civil War), Ant-Man and the Wasp will need to serve as a bridge between that and Avengers 4 in some way, otherwise it's hard to imagine why Marvel would be placing it between the two.

The biggest way it can do that is through the Quantum Realm, the subatomic dimension Scott visited in the first movie, and where they'll be returning to in the sequel to rescue Hope van Dyne.

The Quantum Realm could also be the key to where Carol Danvers has gone after the events of her movie, and/or tie into Avengers 4, with dimension hopping (or some timey-wimey shenanigans allowing them to use it to visit the past) a means of bringing heroes back.
