Avengers: Infinity War - Every Character Confirmed So Far

Confirmed By: The directors: even before there was any real talk of who might be involved specifically, they spoke about him publicly and the role he's expected to play in the film.

Here's what Joe Russo said about him:

I’m excited to work with Thor. They’re doing some really interesting stuff with Ragnarok and where he’s gonna be at the beginning of Infinity War is gonna be a very interesting place and I think very profound. I think he’s gonna have a real emotional motivation after that.

Plot Prediction: After solving one crisis in Thor: Ragnarok (and presumably not dying permanently), Thor could be faced with another immediate attack on his home when Thanos comes to retrieve the Tesseract. If it's true that the Soul Stone is with Heimdall - as has been long rumoured - then he's going to be doubly distraught when he's killed off too. Hence that mention of "real emotional motivation" perhaps?

You really have to fear for Thor, given how powerful he is and how much of a threat he COULD be to Thanos. That probably means if anyone's going to die in Infinity War, he'll be pretty high on the list of potential candidates.
