Avengers: Infinity War - Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
22. Eitri
Peter Dinklage's "secret" role was pretty heavily hinted at some time ago, but it would still have come as a surprise to a lot of people - and a pleasant one at that.
It's a cameo that ranks up there with Matt Damon's appearance in Thor: Ragnarok, and it would have been nice if Marvel had managed to keep it under wraps a little better, but you can't have everything. And the actual character design and Dinklage's performance mean a minor supporting character does leave something of a mark.
Him explaining to Thor that him dying would indeed mean he'd been killed is one of the funniest parts of the whole film.
21. Loki
Sadly for Loki, his death early in the first act is one of the least surprising revelations of the movie, but he does go out with a bang, defiantly standing up to his former ally and actually showing himself committed to both his brother and his departed father (that pause when he calls himself "Odinson" is wonderfully loaded).
That progression is a great end to his arc, but seeing him so brutally killed off genuinely serves the plot as it gives Thanos the boost he needs to confirm that he deserves the billing as the MCU's most fearsome villain. What better way to do that than to kill the best villain the franchise has had to date, after all?
And Hiddleston's performance is great whether he's biting back at Thanos or drawing his last tragic breaths.
