Avengers: Infinity War - How Will The Soul Stone Be Introduced?

Even though it's set to be one of Infinity War's pivotal plot MacGuffins, there are very few tangible facts we know about the Soul Stone at this time.

Aside from the fact that it exists, the most important piece of information we know about it is that its colour is orange. This is the factor that's influenced the many "I found the Soul Stone" theories, with most people attempting to find some sort of orange container/vessel it could be housed in.

But what can the Soul Stone actually do? In the comics, the Soul Gem has the ability to manipulate and steal the souls of others, trap souls inside itself in an idyllic world, access the memories of people imprisoned in the Soul World, and revert beings to their natural state.

It remains to be seen if the movie version will have a similar powerset, but interestingly enough, we've actually seen some of these abilities play out onscreen already.

In Black Panther, T'Challa is able to communicate with his father via some sort of Soul World (it's not explicitly called this, but could be described as such) by using the orange sand, and when Killmonger does the same, he sees his own father, and is transported to his old flat in Oakland - i.e. he was accessing a memory of his childhood home.

So, if these two occurrences are related to the Soul Stone, then we might actually have an answer to our title question...
