Avengers: Infinity War - James Gunn Reveals Another Guardians Easter Egg

Also, a mystery solved (sort of)...

It goes without saying that Avengers: Infinity War is pretty jam-packed with Easter Eggs and small details that require multiple viewings almost as much as the film's blistering action does. But some of the Easter Eggs aren't even visible, according to James Gunn. Well, one anyway.

As a big fan of hiding Easter Eggs that fans literally CANNOT find in his own movies, Gunn has revealed that the new ship that the Guardians fly in Infinity War is an Easter Egg thanks to an affectionate name that follows Peter Quill's naming convention for ships.

The original blue and yellow ship from the first two Guardians movies was called The Milano after Alyssa Milano - young Quill's crush - and according to the director, the new purple ship is called The Benatar after another of his teenage crushes.

Gunn revealed as much on Twitter:

Its introduction into the film is a brilliant little moment as The Spinners' "The Rubberband Man" plays and perfectly captures the spirit of the Guardians. It's almost as if Gunn directed those sequences himself.

He also revealed the answer to a mystery that most fans of the Guardians movies will have asked: where the hell was newest Guardians member Kraglin who joined up at the end of Vol 2? It's a fairly simple answer...
