32. Doctor Strange

The Infinity Gauntlet comic arc begins focusing on Doctor Strange, and while it's naive to expect anything that's faithful (the graphic novel opening also features Silver Surfer, who Marvel don't have the rights to), it's highly likely the movie version will put Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme front and centre - he's such a distinct character who is both powerful enough to take on the cosmic dangers at hand here and capable of carrying the weight of the franchise going forward.

31. The Ancient One

Tilda Swinton as the Ancient One?! Genius. This version of Doctor Strange's mentor is going to be rather different to the comic version, making predicting her role in the stand-alone and any subsequent appearances a tricky task, but given the character's ability to avoid death there's little to stop Swinton appearing here, especially if Strange has a key role.

30. Wong

OK, we're not going to get a straight version of Wong in the MCU - can you imagine a powerful white guy with an Asian servant? But, like J.A.R.V.I.S. the A.I. (or, heck, the Ancient One), we're likely to get some approximation of the charcter in Doctor Strange later this year, someone who'll stick around the Sanctum Sanctorum until Infinity War threatens all the dimensions.
