Avengers: Infinity War Theory - Did Dr. Strange Trick Thanos With The Time Stone?!
1. What Does This Mean For Avengers 4?
As set photos have already revealed, Avengers 4 is almost certain to include some element of time travel. We’ve seen footage of what looks to be modern day Tony Stark and Ant-Man alongside Avengers 1 era Captain America during the Chitauri invasion of New York.
All the characters also seem to be wearing devices on the wrists that have been speculated to be the devices they use to jump through time. How else might such devices be made other than the technological genius of Stark alongside the temporal magic of the Time Stone?
Another supporting factor to consider is the damage dealt to Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet after he performs the snap. It could be that this is due to the paradox of using the Time Stone to perform the snap, despite the fact that the timeline in the snap it happens is already overwritten by the Stone itself. This only furthers Dr. Strange’s plan by crippling the Gauntlet (and Thanos’ power) before the Avengers inevitably launch their counter attack.
The Wizard is full of tricks indeed. In fact, it could be his last and greatest one will prove to be Thanos’ undoing and ultimate victory in Avengers 4.
