Baby Driver Review: 5 Ups & 4 Downs

3. It's One Of Edgar Wright's Least-Funny Films

With its greater focus on action compared to most of his prior movies, Baby Driver is also among the less-funny films in Edgar Wright's filmography, save perhaps only for the surprisingly serious The World's End.

That's not to say the movie doesn't have its hilarious one-liners and fun performances, but the dialogue is less consistently funny than, say, the relentlessness of Shaun of the Dead or Hot Fuzz.

At least the film is riotous enough as an action movie that it gets away with not being so funny, but fans of Wright's might also be left wishing he hit a little harder with the clever gags.
