Bad news for Hotel Transylvania

universal.jpgYou may remember I spoke about Hotel Transylvania over five months ago and then it was one movie I had really high hopes. The news today that Bloody Disgusting have given us unfortunately dashes my hopes somewhat. They are reporting that one of the three Open Season helmers Anthony Stacci and Cow and Chicken director David Feiss have been given the job of bringing the animated movie to the big screen. Regular hack comedy scribe Don Rhymer will be writing the script. Plot of the movie for those who missed it the first time.... In the film Frankenstein, the Mummy, Dracula, and the Werewolf are among a group of monsters hiding out in a hotel on the outskirts of Transylvania now that modern technology has made them seemingly irrelevant. You see, I love the Universal horror movies and I originally thought that this would be a great way to re-introduce them to a new kind of audience.... rather than shooting a half-assed remake that would rape everything that was good about the original movies. But with the talent involved now who are all use to bringing crap "family fun" to the big screen, is that what we are set to be subjected to when it's released in 2009? I sincerely hope not, I think it's such a cool idea... I don't want to see it butchered with a childish movie. Yes make it accessible for kids, but they are UNIVERSAL HORROR MONSTERS... please make them fully rounded characters. source - bloody disgusting
