Surely the big shock of the entire night was Anthony Hopkins winning the Best Actor award over widely-expected winner Chadwick Boseman.

Though this likely doesn't affect Boseman's Oscar chances much at all - he's still basically a lock - it was nevertheless great to see Hopkins being recognised for what is arguably the strongest performance of his entire career.

At 83 years old, it also made Hopkins the oldest Best Actor winner in BAFTA history, some 27 years after his last competitive BAFTA win. The Oscar will most certainly be Boseman's, but this is a well-earned consolation prize for Hopkins.
