Bana confirmed for new Apatow flick. More casting & title...

Eric Bana has been confirmed as one of the leads in Judd Apatow's semi-autobiographical film about stand up comedy titled Funny People. Bana, a former stand up himself will be playing the husband to Leslie Mann (Apatow's real life wife), so you could justifably say Bana is playing Apatow in the movie. Variety say that Jason Schwartzman and Jonah Hill (what a suprise) have also joined the cast, which is toplined by Adam Sandler and also Seth Rogen. Plot details are still being kept hush hush, though it's believed that it focuses on a comedian who has suffered a near death experience. Production begins mid September on the Universal and Columbia Pictures film due out next year, which marks the third written and directed material from Apatow after the brilliant Knocked Up and The 40 Year Old Virgin.
