Batman 1989 Movie Cast - Where Are They Now?
10. Michael Gough - Alfred Pennyworth
Michael Gough already had more than 150 screen credits to his name when he played Alfred in Burton's first Batman, and was one of just two actors to reprise the role for both Burton Batman movies and also the two Joel Schumacher-directed ones.
He was, in fact, one of the few consistently great elements across all four films - yes, even Batman & Robin.
Gough also voiced Alfred in two BBC radio dramas - Batman: The Lazarus Syndrome and Batman: Knightfall - and returned to the part one final time in 2001 for a series of OnStar commercials.
Beyond Batman, Gough also appeared in Martin Scorsese's The Age of Innocence and Burton's Sleepy Hollow during the '90s, after which he entered retirement.
Gough was convinced by Burton to briefly exit retirement, however, to voice characters in his films Corpse bride and Alice in Wonderland. He passed away in 2011 at the age of 94, with tributes being led by none other than his own Bruce Wayne, Michael Keaton.
Keaton said, "To Mick - my butler, my confidant, my friend, my Alfred. I love you. God bless. Michael (Mr. Wayne) Keaton."
