2. We Want New Villains

Despite the rich diversity of the Batman Rogues' Gallery, thanks to one reboot already and the distinct possibility of another, it's unlikely we will get to see anything like a good showing of them. Yes the Joker, Two Face and Cat Woman are arguably among the very best, but do we really want to see another take on the same characters? Nolan at least went with the relatively brave decision to focus on Ra's Al Ghul and Scarecrow for his first film, but since then almost all of his super-villains have been redos, and chances are whoever decides to take on the Batman project will choose to simply redo one of the more popular, and already adapted villains. The temptation to create another new take on the Joker will surely make him stand out as the obvious choice, but that doesn't mean we want to see another after the successes of both Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger. Focusing on only a handful of villains is little more than a disservice to the wider Batman universe and ignores the claims of other villains for consideration - and if the new Spider-Man film can use Lizard as its villain (a comparatively poor villain in contrast with most of Batman's foes), then there are certainly more options available than the Joker, the Riddler, the Penguin or Two Face. Here's a very small smattering of the villains we haven't yet seen, and who would all represent major enough draws to take on the auspicious accolade of tormenting the Bat...
