Batman: 80 Greatest Ever Moments
34. Bringing Oliver Queen Up To Speed - Green Arrow: Quiver
Kevin Smith and Phil Hester's Green Arrow: Quiver is a seminal story that brought the character back to the mainstream of the DCU. It was also deeply introspective, and poked fun at the character's origins as a Batman rip-off before Dennis O'Neil and Neal Adams turned him into the firebrand vigilante of later years.
Returning from the dead and not realising that this version of Oli isn't the one that died years earlier, Batman acknowledges his comrade's most derivative aspects by proclaiming, "Good lord, man -- did you ever have an original thought back then?"
Oli's expression tells it all.

33. The Coming Of Batwoman - 52
When it was published, 52 was the shakeup to end all comic book shakeups. The premise was fairly simple - after the events of Infinite Crisis, DC's Trinity of Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman all went missing for 52 weeks. In their place came slightly more obscure heroes, but they more than proved they were up to the task.
Watching over Gotham in Batman's absence were Vic Sage (The Question) and Renee Montoya (his would-be successor). However, former US army member Kate Kane believed Gotham still needed Batman as a symbol, and so became Batwoman during that same event.
The rest is history. Kate became an LGBT* icon and went on to feature in a beloved series helmed by Greg Rucka, Haden Blackman and J.H. Williams III. The most important addition to Batman's roster in decades.
