Batman: 80 Greatest Ever Moments
74. The Loneliness Of The Hero - The LEGO Batman
When you think back to the best performances as Batman, Will Arnett's incredibly funny take as Bruce Wayne in the LEGO Movie universe will no doubt end up being sadly overlooked, but it deserves special mention.
There's more genius in some of the meta- references and in-jokes in his performance than in any of the more modern live-action takes and it's honestly one of the most rewarding of them all. It also affectionately brings in elements of the 1960s Batman who is a notable absence here (it's kitsch, it's funny, but it's not GOOD, per se).
The best moment for the little plastic hero comes in his own movie when we see him return home from superhero duties and adulation to his own cavernous, empty home and we see the reality of his sad life. It's a sequence that is as touching as it is funny and the revelation of Alfred's relationship with Bruce is an absolute delight.

73. Batman Meets Hellboy - Batman/Hellboy/Starman
If there's a cross-company crossover that was ever written in the stars, it's almost definitely the Batman/Hellboy/Starman crossover, which places the brooding trio in their optimum roles - punching Nazis and solving mysteries.
It wouldn't be groundbreaking stuff had it been a solo run, but seeing three iconic heroes - or, well, two iconic heroes and one that deserves to be - all working together to take down ancient old gods is the kind of stuff that fans legitimately dream about.
More importantly, it's a great moment just in seeing the boundaries of comics pushed. Having characters who conventionally you would never expected to be put together.
