Batman: Every Live-Action Gotham City Ranked Worst To Best

4. Titans

Batman Forever Gotham City
HBO

It took a while for Gotham City to fully take centre-stage in Titans, but it was pretty darn marvellous when this most iconic of locales was delved into in the show's third season.

Prior to Season Three, Titans had only spent a small amount of time in Gotham, with a good chunk of that coming via flashbacks. For the series' third year, though, the action was largely focussed on a Gotham City that had now completely gone to the dogs. With Jason Todd murdered by the Joker, Batman had in turn killed the Clown Prince of Crime before departing his home city. In his place, it's Dick Grayson and the Titans who rock up to serve as the protectors of Gotham - with Jason resurfacing as the clinical, sinister Red Hood.

With 13 episodes to play with in this season, we got to see the true underbelly of Gotham fleshed out in a way rarely seen before. Sure, FOX's Gotham show spent five seasons set in its titular city, yet the adult tone of Titans meant we really got to see the brutality of Gotham City.

Making this depiction of Gotham particularly refreshing, is how Batman's largely out of the equation for most of Titans' third season - leaving the city's Bat Family focus to revolve around Dick, Barbara Gordon, Jason Todd and Tim Drake.
